Manufacturer's Description
Full-HD Model with freesat built-in, Wide Viewing Angle, Superb Moving Picture Quality and Advanced Networking Capabilities. “freesat” is a digital satellite service that offers free HD (High-definition) TV programmes. With the V10 series, you can enjoy sharp pictures, vivid colours, multi-channel sound, and various services with the interactive contents.
Even fast-moving scenes are displayed sharply and clearly. With a 50 Hz video signal input, 100 Hz Intelligent Frame Creation makes 100 frames/sec from 50 frames/sec. This increases the frame count to allow natural frame-to-frame transitions, for smooth motion images with high resolution. VIERA also uses motion focus technology that greatly enhances resolution.
The wide 178° viewing angle* ensures clear images even when viewed from an angle. The backlight's wide transmission aperture enhances the contrast between light and dark, and improves motion-image response. *Measured at an angle where the contrast ratio is 10:1 or higher.
Enjoy the Internet contents right on your TV. With VIERA CAST technology, you can enjoy online content such as videos, photos, weather and stock information through an easy-to-use Web interface that's built into the TV. No extra equipment required.
DLNA is a standard that makes digital electronics easier and more convenient to use on a home network. For example, DLNA makes it possible to watch motion and still images stored in your computer on a large-screen TV, or to watch content stored on a hard disc recorder in your living room or bedroom.
VIERA Link allows interconnected operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable. What's more, the VIERA Image Viewer provides a new photo viewing experience. Simply insert an SD Memory Card into VIERA to display photos and full-HD videos on the large screen. You can also choose from among 3 types of background music and 4 display effects.

Brilliant picture, Mediocre sound
I bought this TV knowing that Panasonic is a brilliant and reliable brand, having sold earlier, lower spec models onto relations. The Freeview tuner is fantastic, with detailed clear pictures. The Freesat HD has crystal clear pictures on BBC HD and ITV HD, but the sound has to be turned down low on BBC HD, as any bass seems to vibrate the speakers. The inclusion of 4 HDMI inputs is very welcome. The ability to tune into satellite channels other than Freesat is also a bonus. I am using this as a bedroom TV, and it is very aesthetically pleasing, and not at all imposing. You really do not need to study the instructions too closely, as the set-up and remote feels instinctual. I have not connected it to the internet however as my router is in the living room. Overall, considering the specifications, great value for money! *Update 22/10/09: Ref issues with the sound reproduction- Panasonic confirm there is a sound vibration problem with the back panel on this model, and if your set is affected, will remedy the problem free of charge. I've just had mine done today, and the sound reproduction is now perfect! Telephone Panasonic on: 0844 844 3852 and they will arrange for a local engineer to go to your home and remedy the problem. Job done!
PANASONIC LCD TV
I have recently purchased the Panasonic TX-L32V10B 32 -inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freesat HD & Viera Cast and was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to set up. With Viera link, it soon picked up my other Panasonic products (Blue Ray player, Video HD Camera and an older DVD/recorder) My only difficulty was with the BBC HD channel which was poor. But after some tweaking of my dish (old Sky dish ) I am now geting good reception. It is now a great pleasure to see all my digital imagry in full HD.
The sound reproduction is not perfect and if anyone knows of a good add on speaker system (at reasonable cost) I would like to know about it !
GREAT PICTURE - LOUSY SOUND
I bought this high-end specification TV after research and based on Panasonic's reputation and brand. I can only agree that the picture is outstanding, ease of use is impressive and the specification is very good indeed. Oh, but the sound! The speakers are wholly inadequate and both vibrate and distort, sounding more like a cheap 1960s tranny than a modern, expensive TV. If you're going to have to use the built-in speakers and not going to run the sound through a cinema system or hi-fi, don't buy this model: all the other qualities are completely let down by the speakers.

Caution required but patience will be rewarded
I have been trying to decide whether or not to buy this TV for many weeks. Initial reviews on Amazon were very good as you can see if you are now reading this. I looked at other reviews on other sites and although very good in general I noticed a few comments which put me off a bit. The reflective glass and "dust magnet" comments did not bother me but reading about image retention and screen burn did. I think that you have to be very cautious with plasma screens, even the latest generation ones, and I have been given a couple of tips which, hopefully, will eradicate the concerns I mentioned.
The first is to have screen settings for contrast, brightness, colour and sharpness at 50 for the first 100 hours or so to allow the TV to "bed in". Obviously this will initially make the picture very dull but any temptation to change the settings must be avoided. I have had my TV for a week now and the difference already without changing the settings is incredible. Even with the screen naturally becoming brighter and more vibrant there has been no evidence of image retention. Once the initial 100 hours of watching has been reached only minimal tweaking will be required to get my ideal picture.
The second tip is designed to reduce the risk of screen burn. One review I read stated that hours of watching GMTV caused the logo to burn the screen. That was a worry as most stations now have an on screen logo eg Sky Sports. On the remote press menu - options - ISM method and choose "orbital". This apparently makes the pixels move (unseen to the human eye) thereby reducing the risk of screen burn.
So what do I think of this TV. I could not be more pleased. As I stated above, the picture is settling down really nicely and the picture quality is very good indeed. Sport is incredible (but don't expect to see a great picture if you are a fan of the older programmes as shown on UKTV Gold) even without HD so I am really looking forward to this weekend when I get my Sky HD box installed. I was advised that if you like sport and want to watch it on a big screen it has to plasma - not LCD. The 600hz in this TV is also a big advantage.
I have read conflicting reports about the sound. I think the sound is okay from the TV but if you have Sky HD you will benefit from a home cinema system as HD broadcasts are in 5.1. It would be better if all broadcasts were in 5.1 but this is,obviously, not the fault of the TV.
If you are thinking about getting this TV go ahead and enjoy it.
WOW - what a TV
Fantastic product at a fantastic price. If you want a good quality TV without breaking the bank then I'd thoroughly recommend this one. If money is no object then go spend more elsewhere.
LG 50-inch HD 1080p Plasma TV - Fantastic
I have been totally impressed by this product, and how easy it was to set up. When mounted on the stand, you can easily alter the position of the television to suit where you are positioned in the room.
The image quality is superb with vibrant colours and good picture detail. Watching in HD is absolutely stunnning with sharp, crisp and highly detailed images - this TV is definately intended for HD viewing, making it such a great experience.
Another handy feature is the ability to connect a memory stick or external hard drive via the USB port to play your own music or show off your photos in a slide show.

Fantastic
Very nice indeed, no sign of screen burn or ghosting, picture quality good - exceptional with HD. The LG logo is a bit big otherwise beautiful to look at. The screen is quite reflective so a bit of care is needed in positioning/shading, but this is pretty much the same on any screen which is shiny. The cables go straight out the back, which is frankly a bizarre design, but not too difficult to squish in the space created by a (very slimline) bracket. Worth the extra for the extra 10" of real estate over a 50" - much more wow factor. The infinia one piece look is much prettier than the cheaper ones in the range, but these too are not bad and I'm sure that most of the innards are the same. The thing which tipped it for me was the extra contrast the 990 theoretically has. Not sure if there really is a difference but for the extra few hundred quid, considering how much time I'll spend looking at it, I figure it's worth getting the best one in the range. So far I am very happy indeed, football looks really great, you can count the blades of grass or Rooney's freckles should you wish....

Great Picture but with Fixable Chronic Sound Problem
Ok - like so many people I decided to upgrade (from an excellent Phillips 32" CRT) to an LCD, and after months of deliberating I decided to go for this slightly more expensive model.
To keep it short, and in line with the other reviewers here, the image quality is simply excellent, both in SD and in HD. The built in freesat and freeview work very well (after you get over the Viera software quirkiness with the menu. like how much space the left side takes up and the channel select confirmation every time you navigate and select via the menu system).
Oodles of other features that will keep you busy for a while.
HOWEVER, and this is a big however, there is a chronic sound problem with this model THAT IS FIXABLE. I will describe the problem first and then the remedy.
It seems at certain frequency transmissions or on higher volumes the plastic casing seems to resonate which causes the sound to distort and it is rather annoying, especially as it is an expensive TV unit. I was genuinely horrified when I turned it on and flipped through a few channels and the sound was basically terrible i.e. distorted by the vibration of the back panel.
To make this better whilst you wait for the real fix, go into sound, turn down the Volume Correction quite a bit until it is almost off, adjust the bass and treble down a bit and then you have to turn the volume up quite a bit to get loud sound, but it helps reduce the distortion. THIS IS A TEMPORARY FIX!
Now, I sent Panasonic UK an e-mail describing the issue, and after a couple of weeks they contacted me with an explanation that a physical fix has been identified by Panasonic and to contact your local Panasonic support centre, which is listed on their UK web-site. I did this and the guy came round and fixed it unded warranty - no problems at all and he did a great job.
The fix itself was to completely remove the back panel and fit some special foam padding designed for these tye of speakers, so when the back panel was re-attached it was squashed into the foam slightly and hence all vibration generated is absorbed and no stupid distortion.
This was done a week back now and I am so pleased because I can have the TV up pretty much as loud as I want with the Volume Correction, bass and treble turned back up with no distortion - woo-hoo!
So the upshot is this - before the fix was in place I would have awarded quite simply a 1 star, because spending this sort of money and having poor sound from Panasonic is not acceptable. Aftr the fix I can honestly award a 5 star because I am now very pleased, although Panasonic should really have caught this in their Quality Control before shipping the units commercially!
Anyone experiencing this problem should definitely contact your local Panasonic dealer and get it fixed - you will be so pleased!
Typically excellent product from Panasonic
I've had many Panasonic products over the years and this TV reinforces the reasons why that is.
Slim and attractive (for a TV) with loads of features, this is without doubt the best set I've owned. It sits beautifully flat against the wall, and produces excellent pictures across the board, but truly comes into it's own in full HD where the images produced are fantastic.
It is a little pricier than other brands, but with Panasonic you do get what you pay for.
For truly excellent sound, you'd need additional speakers to be honest, but we've found it more than meets our needs for all types of viewing requirements.
Highly recommended.
Great Picture and Good Looks - Shame About the Sound
I have been loyal to the Panasonic brand for longer than I can remember and the last couple of TVs, including this one, were purchased based on features and reviews rather than my actually seeing and/or demoing in the flesh.
The picture quality on this TV is everything I expected but the sound is very poor for a TV in this price range. It appears that this is the result of trying to squeeze speakers into the thin casing and is becoming a common complaint with people reviewing this TV. Once wall mounted the sound did improve very slightly but still well below what I'd expect.
I have now invested in an AV Receiver (Denon AVR 1910) and external speakers (Q-Acoustics 5.1 1010i package), more than doubling the intended investment in the TV, so the sound is no longer a problem as the TV's speakers are now redundant. I now have a great setup but one I didn't realise I wanted (or needed!) a couple of months ago,
Picture quality is why I've given 3 stars - if the sound was half decent I would have awarded 5. Unless you are planning on playing sound via external speakers I would think twice before buying this TV.
Probably the last time I will buy Panasonic without seeing and hearing it first.

samsung led tv
top notch tv picture quality is stunning in normal definition and out of this world in hd ...... great tv for the money if you have around about 1k to spend on a tv i would strongly recommend finding that little bit extra and buying this tv you wont be dissapointed
Fantastic with HD source
Have spent the last two years wondering whether to upgrade from an older Phillips Plasma 37" TV (pre-HD). I was never sure enough that the HD TV's were better by enough to justify the cost.
I bought this TV from Amazon (by far the best price and 2 day delivery). On freeview or standard Sky TV the result is only OK, actually not good enough to justify the cost.
On HD source eg Sky HD or Bluray the result is truly excellent. Natural tones, supreme brightness. I find myself watching incidental detail; peoples faces in a crowd, dry gravel on the ground, blades of green grass, and loosing track of the film. To be honest there is some motion blurr, but this is present on ALL screens and it is not a problem for me.
Pulling up JPEG images via a USB stick are also stunning - pin sharp and rock solid.
The sound quality is not a selling point, but not as bad as to be tinny or harsh, in normal watching its fine. We have 5.1 separates system when we watch a film and want more sound impact. This sound and picture combination is Dram-atic :-P)
Build quality is top notch and very good looking
By the way the HDMI cable I run cost me a fiver - don't waste your money on any more, but do think that a wall mounted TV will probaly need a 3Metre run
I'm well fussy about the kit I buy. I love this TV!!
Go for it!!
I love this thing
After only six years of usage my fantastic 36" Sony CRT (100Hz) gave up the ghost; I couldn't believe that it would fail so soon! Clearly they don't make 'em like they used to; my Grundig portable was bought from a second-hand electronics shop and lasted me 14 years and then worked for my Mum another two years after that! Anyhoo, I was absolutely gutted but it did give me the push I needed to get the screen I had had my eye on for more than a year!
I had been sold on the idea of a Samsung plasma ever since my grandparents bought theirs but it was all pipe-dream territory for me mainly because of the expense; it wasn't until I saw how cheaply you could pick up a Samsung 50" plasma that I started to look into it a little more deeply. Unfortunately after downloading a few manuals from the Samsung website I discovered that to score a full-HD plasma I would have to fork out for a Series 5 or better; couple that to the fact that I had grown accustomed to a 100Hz screen and wouldn't compromise on that so I would have to save for the Series 7... 50"... over twelve-hundred quids worth of TV at the time! - Ridiculous And it wouldn't end there: Who else is put off by the power cost of the plasma screens? As pretty as the 50" Series 7 (PS50A750) is, it was expensive to buy and it's 750W power consumption was probably going to make it expensive to keep!
Then I discovered the Samsung LED range in PC World demoing the Pixar flick: "Cars" - OH MY WORD! A truly stunning picture, Full HD, 100Hz, Light (as in not heavy!), thin (less than 30mm deep) and pushing its eco-friendliness as its power consumption is comparable to your more conventional screens - That's it then... That's the one for me!!!
Crunch time came a month or so ago; the Sony died, I made a bee-line for the PC and Googled Samsung LED Televisions... I didn't even consider any other manufacturer as I've only heard (and seen!) good things from my in-laws and my grandparents who both own Samsung TV's - I've always adored the piano-black finish and the software in these TV's is fool proof; as far as setting them up go, they pretty much take care of themselves!
Originally after the 55" screen I was immediately slapped into place by the cost so I 'settled' for the 46" Series 6. Amazon actually offered the second cheapest 46" Series 6 LED TV that I was able to find on the Internet but I trust Amazon over pretty much any other retailer because they're slick with the delivery and they seldom give me any nonsense on the very rare instances in which I've needed their after sales support or where I've had to deal with their returns and refunds!
I tell you, when this baby arrived I was grinning like a kid at Christmas as I unboxed it and appreciated how big a 46" screen is in my living room; I think I let out an involuntary laugh! - When you screw it to its stand which is a sheet of black-tinted safety glass it really does look the business!
You're really not doing this screen any justice if you just scart it to your standard DVD player, your Sky-box or Freeview-HDD recorder as even on strong signals the picture quality can get pretty pathetic and I'm simply too damned tight to pay the monthly subscription to Sky-HD and to be frank, I couldn't care less about Eastenders coming through the box in HD! All these new screens are really rewarding if you exploit the HDMI sockets for your DVD watching; I'm most entertained when I'm watching crash-bang-boom blockbuster-type FX-heavy movies so I can't impress upon you enough that an upscaled 1080P-DVD player or BlueRay player really is the only way to enjoy the potential that these screens offer.
Something that I think is very noteworthy: Until this screen came along I had yet to see a successful application of the digital noise reduction feature. Every time I've tried this feature on other screens (including my old Sony) the improvements in picture quality has always compromised the fluidity of the picture motion (most noticeable on fast scrolling credits) so I usually just switched it off as a matter of course... Until now! It looks as though Samsung have actually written some good Digital NR software as not only can I have this feature switched on with this screen, I can have it set to Medium before I notice any compromise in the quality of the picture motion and that's only with very fast moving scenes! - A big well done to Samsung for that as this has significantly improved the picture quality on both the Freeview and the Skybox.
I only have two negatives to offer: The first is the sound! These speakers are rear facing for a start which is a bit silly and they lack guts which on such a lovely bit of gear suggests to me that Samsung have deliberately cut a corner here so as to tempt you with their 5.1 surround system - The sound coming out of my 2004 Sony CRT was far superior and it's equaliser software was just as comprehensive!
This next one would appear to be a real sore point amongst the owners of Samsung LED TV's and that would be the Auto Dim feature which is a function you can't access through the user menus (not to be confused with the dynamic contrast which can be switched on and off). Auto Dim is a simple little trick that Samsung employ which I suspect is to give you better black or near-black colours whilst at the same time allows the screen to fall into the eco-friendly category; it automatically adjusts the brightness of the LED back-light to approximate the ambient brightness of the scene you are viewing at any given instant.
For the most part this feature is no big deal but if like me you enjoy allot of science fiction, allot of Star Trek then you are going to have scenes set in space which for the most part is black; so black in fact that on this screen it won't even let you see the stars!!! If in the distance all on its lonesome the Enterprise will have a shadow cast over it which gradually lifts the closer to the foreground it gets, brightening the stars as it approaches! White text on a black background (like with film credits) is another real noticeable clanger dropped by the Auto Dim feature; if it's lots of text then everything is of an appropriate brightness however if it's just one or two lines of text then the text will get really dark! Even the screen's user menus will be affected by the Auto Dim feature!!
This is a really silly function and can't be switched off! I've checked with some forums and have read many dead-end complaints regarding this feature as Samsung acknowledge the issue but refuse to release a fix that allows the user to control the severity of the Auto Dim from the user menu; at the time of writing this the downloadable updates from the Samsung website have yet to address this issue - come on boys!
You can minimise this effect by customising the picture settings with particular focus on the backlight brightness, brightness, contrast and darkness settings however what looks good for Star Trek will look less so for say BBC News! - After a month I'm still tweaking trying to find a manageable balance!
Okay, I'm done! My verdict remains very positive!! Buy this screen people; you'll love it, I guarantee it!!!

Great TV
I was looking to upgrade the 15" TV for my bedroom, so didn't need anything too big and I wanted something light to mount on the existing wall bracket (this TV is 2 kg lighter than the 15"). I originally looked at the 19" version but when I compared the price of the 19" & 22" I was amazed to find that the price was the same!! It seemed the logical choice. The TV was delivered but was faulty - the picture was displayed upside down. Amazon were great and sent out a replacement which arrived the next day. The quality of picture is great for a TV this size, it does take some fiddling around with the colour/brightness etc... to get it just right but the on screen menus make this easy. The LED backlighting makes a massive difference to the contrast which gives a really rich & clear picture and makes the blacks really look black and not dark grey as on other TVs. If I needed another small TV for any other room, I would definitely buy another of these and am so impressed I'm looking to replace the main TV with a larger version LED TV.
On the whole fairly pleased
In general I am pleased with this tv. The set looks very impressive and with the clear screen surround it stands out from other sets.
The picture clarity is excellent and I can't fault it on that side.
I do find however, that the sound isn't as good as I had hoped. Even adjusting the sound settings doesn't make a big difference. It's acceptable but could be better.
On a positive note the set does come with a written manual rather than the dvd manual that some tvs come with.
